Zero waste at universities as well!
Zero waste is a term that keeps appearing in our life. The subject matter crops up in blogs, popular media as well as being analysed by researchers who deal with environmental protection or sociology.
References to zero waste principles can be found at scientific and specialists conferences or the implementation of pro-ecological solutions in campuses. Zero waste movement also gains publicity in friendly workplace environment i.e. offices created in accordance with the rules of sustainable development.
On their website, Polish Zero Waste Association promotes the major principles,

- Reuse
- Recycle
- Rot
The rules are reflected in our ECOUMED programme and new, integrated recycle bins in our buildings are just one example.
Other inspiring ideas are offered by different universities. ‘Deeper Dive Into Zero Waste’, an article by Sarah Stanley, describes how Zero Waste was implemented in Arizona State University in Tempe (USA) and underlines the importance of the educational aspect of the movement.
